2022 Bimmers & Beans at Calibre Coffee
The point of a Cars & Coffee, I mean, Bimmers & Beans on a Sunday morning is to give yourself a reason to get up early and go for a drive before anyone else is even out of bed. Early in the morning the roads are empty, the air is calm and silent, and the left lane is- never mind; the left lane is still occupied by a Corolla going 15 under, but I digress. So, you get up carefully, as to not wake up your family, sneak down the stairs (avoiding that one loud creaky step), grab your keys, go into the garage, start your Bimmer and… end up waking everyone up anyways because your M Performance exhaust rattles the whole house.
Everybody in the club who did this on June 12th had a destination in mind, Calibre Coffee at The Arboretum of South Barrington. Bimmers & Beans took place from 8am to 10am and attracted about 40 cars! I am thrilled that many people came out to grab a coffee, hang out, and chat. One member told me that he had a beautiful early morning drive to get there. Everyone should attend the next Bimmers & Beans. I am going to try and set up at least one more this year at Calibre Coffee, but we also have a few more car shows elsewhere in the pipeline.
Don’t miss the next one! I want to give a huge thank you to Blaine Bontempo, owner of Calibre Coffee, and Josh Tupas, the manager, for having us and for the 15% discount on our coffee given to Windy City BMW members. Also thank you to Stacy Kallas from The Arboretum of South Barrington for helping with the logistics of the event. It was a great event in a fantastic location. Let’s do it again soon, Calibre Coffee! Kyle Ashpole
