2022 Bimmers & Burgers May 28

May 28, 2022

I have been chairing car shows for Windy City BMW for a little over a year now and this was the single largest car meet I have had yet. Bimmers & Burgers usually draws around 35 cars, but this time we lost count somewhere around 90!!! This was an absolutely fantastic turnout.

While I have your attention, I want to highlight the importance of sending your RSVP to the email provided for an event. We had 30 cars RSVP for this Bimmers & Burgers, but 90 cars showed up. Sending your RSVP to the email provided really goes a long way in planning parking for everyone. You WILL NOT be turned away EVER if you don’t RSVP, but please keep this in mind; It really helps us plan the shows better when we have a rough estimate of how many people are coming.

With that in mind, here’s what the show was like if you couldn’t make it. It was a beautiful sunny, 75 degree day at Rookie’s in Roselle. As said above, we had 90. NINETY. Nine. Zero. Cars show up. I was at a loss for words. The support we got for our club today was fantastic. We had everything from the classics like the 2002, to the latest cutting-edge BMWs like the i8 and the new, hot off the line, G42 2 Series. Rookie’s burgers were great as always and the waitresses were working on overdrive to get everyone their food, so thank you to them for their hard work. Thanks to Rookie’s owner Bob Karas and manager John Alimissis for having us once again.

Guys, you set the bar high. If we can get 90 cars at a Bimmers & Burgers, I want that amount and MORE at VINfest in September! VINfest is the big season-ending show for us. It will have prizes, voting, and then some. Details can be found on our website, or if you are reading this in the Breeze, flip a few pages. I hope everyone had a great time and I will see you all at the next Windy City BMW event!      KYLE ASHPOLE
