2023 Bimmers & Beans Calibre #3

Jul 22, 2023

Our final planned Bimmers & Beans of the year was on July 22nd from 8-10am at Calibre Coffee in South Barrington. (FYI, this is not our final Cars & Coffee of the year, only the final one at Calibre Coffee. Check our calendar!) The weather cooperated and gave us a bright and sunny, warm atmosphere to bask in! The show was simply marvelous, and I personally think it was one of the best shows I’ve ever chaired, second to only VINfest 2022. The May Bimmers & Beans was pretty great too, but I think July gets the win. We had everything from 2002s, to the first E36 M3 ever sold in the United States, to the latest and greatest G-chassis cars from Lederhosen land.

The highlight, by far, was the 2 BMWs that iND Distribution brought out to display. The modified BMWs were a G82 M4 and an F87 M2. The G82 was gorgeous, completely stripped at one point to paint it a beautiful shade of British Racing Green. It was finished off with an awesome Stradale grille with BBS wheels. The F87 could be seen coming from a mile away, equipped with fender vents and a big spoiler, finished in a bright, bright, BRIGHT Lime Green. Anyone want to buy me the M4? Please?

I think my catch phrase is quickly becoming “HUGE thanks” because I end almost all my Breeze articles with some variation of it… and this article is no different. HUGE thanks to Blaine Bontempo, owner of Calibre Coffee for continuing to host us for Bimmers & Beans. This is number 6, if I recall correctly. Every time I get home, I see a text or email from Blaine thanking Windy City BMW members for being such a great group. Thanks to Stacy Kallas from The Arb as well. Shop at The Arb! Finally, grande gracias to iND Distribution for bringing out the eye candy. We really appreciate it and hope you guys had a great time. Thanks to all 70+ cars and their owners for attending. I don’t do anything but make phone calls and emails. It’s you guys that make the shows happen by showing up. Oh, and thanks to whoever controls the weather, cause it was perfect.
