Please RSVP in advance to Diana firstname.lastname@example.org. Marking “going” to this facebook event does not RSVP you to this event.
Typically there is space on the morning of the event however prior registration is strongly preferred so we can have enough class material print outs and accurate reservation size at the restaurant.
There will be a 2.5 hour class session at Perfect Power in Buffalo Grove followed by a short Beginners Rallye to reinforce the class lessons. We will meet at a restaurant (tbd) at the end to discuss results and answer questions.
If you’re interested in learning about TSD (Time Speed Distance) Trap rallyes or refreshing your skills please come out and join us for the rallye school. The rallye school is strongly recommended but not mandatory before running your first rallye.
Running a rallye requires a driver and a navigator. A BMW or Porsche is NOT required (but recommended to have more fun!). Minimum age for navigators is 16 years and any minors, even if riding in the backseat, will be required to sign a waiver with parent or legal guardian permission on the morning of the event. Drivers must be at least 18 years old.
A Rallye is a non-racing driving event conducted on open public streets. In each car, the driver and navigator carefully follow instructions that direct them along a given course of public roads. There is a friendly competition to see which teams followed the course most accurately, while staying on time, arriving at checkpoint locations neither early nor late. At the finish restaurant location, scoring will be consolidated for the TSD (time, speed, distance) results, and awards will be issued as the teams gather to discuss the day’s events.
If you do not have a partner and would still like to participate in the rallye school, just let us know. We will try to find you someone to participate with or you are welcome to sit in on only the class portion of the event.
It is mandatory to read the General Instructions in advance of participating in a rallye. Find 2017 General Instructions & past year’s rallye school notes online.
